I’m a local nurse, Mundaring councillor, and Hills resident for 20 years.
My career in nursing has shaped my values of compassion and fairness.
Working as a nurse and midwife across our regions I’ve seen firsthand the vital role Medicare plays providing healthcare across WA.
Access to healthcare should depend on your Medicare card, not your credit card – and I am proud to be part of the Labor Party that created and strengthened Medicare.
While I may be a nurse, and Federal Member of Parliament, I have also recently completed my PhD at Edith Cowan University - so I'll officially be Dr. Patricia Cook MP!
My thesis is on immunotherapy, and making medical care at home more accessible for people with cancer or chronic health conditions. You can click the button below to read more about my research.
I’m an active community volunteer, leading the charge for the development of skateparks and community gardens to improve amenity and social spaces for residents.
As the former Deputy Shire President of Mundaring and councillor for 8 years, I have experience in delivering for my community. I’m excited to deliver for Bullwinkel.
